A HAWK lands in Billings- High-intensity Activate crossWalK

This signal functions similar to those at a railroad crossing remaining dark until triggered by a pedestrian. Once activated the signal has four phases beginning with a flashing yellow alerting motorist to stop, then a solid red like a traditional red light, followed by a flashing red that is like a yield sign, concluding with going dark once more. The purpose of the signal is to aid employees crossing to the new federal building in Billings. The new building has limited on site parking, so employees will be taking alternative modes to work and utilizing existing parking infrastructure.
